What others say

"I use this resource in 1-1 tutoring, small groups, and writing conferences to better explain the importance of descriptive writing and answer the notorious "why?" question. It does a good job breaking down showing vs telling in writing and is in student-friendly language. Thank you!"

Description

This reflection asks students to reflect on an article on the brain science behind descriptive writing. This reflection activity is the third of three in my Intro to Creative Writing unit. This activity works best after having introduced the idea of descriptive writing/showing not telling. Teacher directions are included with how I incorporate this activity into my class. An editable Google Slides link is included!
