Description

Aimee and the engaging animals present math word problems and graphing for an entire quarter. Students will work on a problem type for 5 days. The first day the most support is offered to the learner. Each day less and less support is offered on the page, giving the student more and more opportunities to show their working knowledge of how to solve the problem. Students will have the opportunity to solve addition problems (results unknown and addend unknown), subtraction problems, adding with three addends, organizing and using data, along with organizing and using a t-chart.
This collection of work can become a math portfolio for each child. The work can be shared with parents at conferences.
There are First Grade Math Thinker books for each quarter of the school year. The book follows the same format each quarter. The engaging characters return and spiral through the same problem types but with more rigor each quarter.
