My students are struggling with math in general, and culinary math is good practical experience in basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and it did help them understand those basic concepts. The word problems are really good examples of the things I did in the restaurant business, and my kids improved their abilities.
I have included this sheet, along with several others from this seller, for our culinary math unit (which we are starting after "spring break"). These notes are easy to understand and will be helpful since we are not in class together for me to explain. This will be a great tool to help me gauge understanding from a virtual platform.
