Students need to know what is going on in the world around them. Summarizing and making personal connections are important reading skills that students will use while completing their current event.
Students will select an article (website, magazine, newspaper, etc.) and complete the current event form. They will need to read their article carefully (hopefully more than once), determine important key vocabulary words, summarize in their own words, decide on a question they still have, and even try to make personal connections.
