This ready-to-go project is designed for students to dive deep into a current event of their choice through student presentations and discussions. It provides flexibility to suit middle school students through AP or college level government.

Aligned with Florida State Standard Civics and Government Standard 2, CCSS and Theme 10 for NCSS.

Handouts (Editable- Word and Canva Link) include:

  • Sign-up sheet for presentations
  • Scaffolded break down of current event
  • Student led discussion questions
  • Example of complete presentation plan

Slides (Editable-Canva Link) include:

  • Objective, Standards, and Bell Ringer
  • Slides introducing students to each part of the project
