Description
This document, which I created for my Language Arts Literacy classroom, provides students with a proposed set of guidelines and requirements for weekly Current Events Reports. These reports, which are a staple in many social studies and language arts classrooms, offer students an opportunity to explore informational and journalistic texts to develop schema about the world around them and contemporary issues that face the global community. Such projects can improve reading comprehension, provide a basis for students to analyze nonfiction text features and structures, and offer opportunities for students to experience critical peer-to-peer discussions replete with inferences, connections, synthesis, critiques, and predictions.
I am making this document available to you here in Word Document form (.doc) to make it easily customizable to fit the needs of your classroom and students.
