Description

This is a pack of two excellent projects which allow students to research, explore, and discuss major issues facing today's societies. With special focus on issues they'll hear about on the news and around the dinner table, these projects are designed to use each student's curiosity about different topics to educate the entire class. For each of the two projects here, you'll receive handouts which explain the requirements clearly to students, as well as the rubrics/grade sheets used to score and communicate the quality of student work. It's everything you need!

Project I: Current Global Issues. (Issues of students' choosing that affect at least three nations will be the topics of student work.)

Project II: Current State Issues. (Issues that affect one nation of students' choosing will be the topics of student work.)

It's often difficult to bring current global issues into the classroom when so many other obligations pop up and get in the way. Many curriculums across the country are so extensive that teachers can't afford to tell students about the world around them because we're still trying to catch students up. I finally came up with this project set as a solution, and it works!
