Description

Dab it Boards assist with blending practice while adding an element of fun through a colorful, multisensory strategy. In my experience, kids are instantly engaged when the bingo dabbers come out!

Directions:

Students say each sound as they ‘dab” the circle and blend the sounds together. Once the word has been blended, they can ‘dab’ the matching clipart. Readers will need to be careful though. Most of the clipart choices are very similar to the ‘real’ word, which adds an extra challenge. For example, the clipart choices for BAG are bag, bug and bad, and for LAP, they are lap, log and lip.

Tip: I prefer to copy the two boards, face-to-face on 12”x18” construction paper. The construction paper absorbs the ink quicker, and the paper can be folded with the ink on the inside in case it needs more drying time.
