PowerPoint and Guided Notes

DNA History and Structure PowerPoint and Guided Notes in two formats, worksheets, and foldables for interactive notebooks. Both sets include differentiated fill-in-the-blank notes and teacher keys in red and black ink. The student notes are blank with keywords, they can be filled out using the teacher key, online web search, or any Biology textbook. The Notes seamlessly follow the PowerPoint.

The guided notes worksheets and foldable only require one sheet of paper. The foldable has space for gluing into a composition notebook or spiral ring notebook.

Students will learn about the scientists and DNA structure, while also coloring DNA components such as sugar, phosphate, and nucleotides.

Complementary DNA Base Pairing Practice with Key

The Complementary DNA Base Pairing Practice worksheet is complementary to teaching DNA structure by providing students with an opportunity to practice DNA base pairing. There are two warmup DNA sequences and five scenarios for students to practice DNA base pairing, followed by three short answer questions. The five scenarios describe popular science and science fiction concepts to help break up the monotony of simply pairing up DNA nucleotides.

You will download two worksheets to create double-sided copies and a teacher's key. This worksheet is a great follow-up after teaching students DNA base pairing and priming them for protein synthesis.
