Change the targeted behavior. Make sure it is both measurable and observable! In this example, I am targeting tantrum behavior and defined a tantrum as crying, screaming, aggression, and/or verbal threats.

I am targeting the student saying "I need a break" as a replacement behavior for a tantrum.
