"Love to use these journal questions as a check in for homeroom and the beginning of my class. Good variety. "

Description

This daily journal assignment is a great opportunity to provide STRUCTURE, ROUTINE & MOMENTS OF REFLECTION for students! Check in with students to let them know that you care! I've noticed now more than ever my students have a lot of thoughts & feelings about what is going on and want to connect with me but also need the outlet to process their thoughts & emotions.

In the classroom, I typically use a daily journal format each morning to get students focused and ready for the day. This journal assignment prompts students to practice gratitude, make to-do lists, journal their thoughts, choose an inspirational mantra & give advice to a classmate who is feeling down all from home!

The advice portion is my favorite part as I can quickly copy and paste students' advice to another student (i leave their names anonymous) when someone indicates they aren't feeling 100%. It's a great way for us to maintain community while apart!

This google forms document is so easy to assign and track student answers quickly, I will be switching over to the digital version when we return!

I used this at the start of every Skills for Life Class. I did modify it to make it work more for my class, but it was a nice start.
