This is a phonics instruction book to teach beginning reading for children. This is level 3. Children will build on their skills learned in Level 1 and Level 2. This book focuses on the science of reading. This book focuses on vowel sounds - short, long, other and r-controlled. The daily focus sounds are in red to encourage stretching and identifying the sounds which helps with the blending process in reading. The lessons are short and simple and should not take any more than a few minutes a day. After the child completes the 78 lessons, they will be decoding words and reading sounds in context (sentences). The author created this instruction book to use in the classroom with her students. The students loved these short lessons and confidence and improvements in reading were noted very quickly. This is a must for any adult trying to teach their littles ones to read. I would also encourage using the Science of Reading strategies with this book. In this book students will focus on Lefty Larry, Grapheme Grasshopper, Blendy Wendy and Syllable Sam.
