Description

Focus on Data Analysis! Use these multiple choice math warm-ups/quizzes to quickly assess students’ knowledge and mastery in this critical area! Use the detailed, easy-to-understand solutions to build proficiency!!

Our multiple-choice math quizzes and/or math warm-ups were developed for teachers and their students by teachers based on their students’ needs and based on standardized testing's increased emphasis on data analysis. These exercises can be used either in distance learning or in the classroom via technology. Each exercise was designed to review and reinforce basic concepts in probability and statistics. Problem pages can be assigned as a daily quiz with students’ scores available (scored by Google) or as a daily warm-up with instant insight into students’ understanding.

This set contains 15 problem pages with 3 multiple-choice math problems on each page, a total of 45 math exercises. Topics include simple and compound probability, odds, mean, median, mode, range, factorial, permutation, and combination. Questions require students to analyze various data displays including tree diagrams, stem-and-leaf plots, box-and-whisker plots, pictographs, histograms, scatter plots, and pie graphs. These warm-ups are appropriate for advanced students in 7th grade or for any 8th grade math class. These are essential skills for students in any high school math course.

When these exercises are used as math warm-ups, students will receive feedback as well as detailed solutions for each problem. If students are working independently, they should be able to use these descriptive solutions to identify their errors and revise their thinking. The tools are available to help them correct their mistakes and modify their understanding.

Use our warm-ups on a daily basis to consistently reinforce math concepts in data analysis (and help students to prepare for standardized tests)!

Key features:

  • Available through Google Forms (You will need a Google Account to access this Google Drive folder which includes 15 Google Forms documents.)
