Description
This bundle includes activities that require students to visualize data by creating graphs from data both given to them and data that they collect! With this bundle, students will sharpen their graph creating skills, hone their data collection design and implementation skills, and practice associating data with the most appropriate type of graph.
Included:
6 Graph Literacy Activities, each with their keys and teacher guides!
Visualizing Data
This activity requires students to collect data as a class and create three types of graphs (bar, line, and pie). With guidance from the teacher, students will provide real-time data to create graphs that are appropriate for each data set.
Associating Data with Graphs
This activity requires students to analyze three experiments and their data sets to decide the best way to visualize the data. Students will associate each dataset with either a bar, line, or pie graph. After matching the graph to the data set, they will create the graphs using the provided data.
Collecting and Associating Data with Graphs
This activity requires students to collect data as a class and create three types of graphs (bar, line, and pie). With guidance from the teacher, students will provide real-time data and create graphs that they think are best for visualizing each data set.
Designing Data Collection: Bar Graphs
This activity requires students to design their own data collection plan, implement the plan, create a bar graph of the data, and interpret the results. In a group, students will provide collect real time data to practice their scientific method and graphing skills.
Designing Data Collection: Line Graphs
This activity requires students to design their own data collection plan, implement the plan, create a line graph of the data, and interpret the results. In a group, students will provide collect real time data to practice their scientific method and graphing skills.
Designing Data Collection: Pie Graphs
This activity requires students to design their own data collection plan, implement the plan, create a pie graph of the data, and interpret the results. In a group, students will provide collect real time data to practice their scientific method and graphing skills.
