Description
Jigsaw is a cooperative learning activity. It is used to break down large learning material into smaller, more manageable information. Students are placed into groups and become "experts" on a specific topic. Expert groups are separated into groups with others who are experts on different topics. Together, teams provide complete information and full understanding of the final product.
This Jigsaw has 5 reading articles and 2 organizational worksheets for notes. The activity itself is good for any level of ASL. If you want your class to by 100% in the target language (you don't allow English) you would want to use this for ASL 3/4 only. The material is written in English and can be understood by any ASL student.
This activity pairs well with the Deaf Humor lesson 1 or can be used on it's own to teach Deaf humor.
This jigsaw activity can be used for cooperative learning, expressive communication, sub day activity or interactive notebook notes.
