Welcome to the Christmas Mystery Picture Using Equations. Bring a little fun into your math lessons. This is a mystery picture that when solved looks like Rudolph’s face. Perfect for December or any other month when you want to challenge your students.

Students find the hidden pictures by solving math equations and then coloring the numbered answers. Math equations focused on are subtracting a one digit number from a two digit number. The activities includes the student grid with colors, and finished puzzles for teacher reference.

I have used this activity with students from 1st grade to 3rd grade. Many older students enjoy using it for independent fun work or center activities.
