Description

Do your students struggle to "see" decimals? Use these flash cards to help. After your students have either colored the grid to match the decimal, or write the decimal to match the grid, students can sort the cards, compare them, and put them in order. Through the variety of activities, students will gain a deeper understanding of decimals: naming; place value; comparing; and rounding to tenths and hundredths. There are sixty cards, from 0 to 2, with the decimal written as a decimal as well as a fraction. Just print, cut, and you are good to go!

Decimal Flash Cards For Sorting, Comparing, Building, and Discussing

How can I use this product?

I hand out one card to each student. The card has a decimal on one side and an empty grid on the other. The student will color the grid to match the decimal. Then the place the decimal on the floor in order. Other students will also add their card and place them in order. I have the students place them in order by the colored grid and then flip them to see them in decimal order. There are 60 cards, so when a student is done I hand them another one.

What is included?

The 97 page PDF file contains:

Cover page/notes/copyright info (3 pages)

Three sections

  1. Both the decimal and decimal fraction on one side and the matching shade grid on the other, like traditional flash cards.
  2. The decimal and decimal fraction on one side and a blank grid on the other, for students to color the grid to match the decimal, 60 cards from 0 to 2.
  3. The shaded grid on one side without the decimal on the other, for students to write the matching decimal, 60 cards from 0 to 2.

There is a page of a blank grid on one side and no decimal written on the other for students to add on.

I am so delighted with this collection. As a homeschooling mom of multiple children, I've found it incredibly difficult to find high quality educational materials. Thank goodness for EMW! Her products have been a wonderful addition to our schooling material and greatly enhanced the math skills & proficiency of my kiddos.
