Description

72 CARD SET for SORTING, CONVERTING, and MATCHING

Decimals, Fractions, and Percents

There are so many ways to use these cards with your students!

Sorting: Have students arrange the cards in order, from smallest to largest, evens and odds, greater or less than 1/2, etc.

Converting: Students are given cards in one numerical format, and they're tasked with converting them to others.

Matching: Each card in this set has matching equivalents for all 3 formats. After students get the hang of converting, have them match the cards with their equivalent.

Challenge Mode: Sort, convert, and match!

Various Groupings: Organizing students differently will drastically change the task, too:

Individual Matching: Each student matches/sorts all the cards they’re given.

Partner Sort: Students work in pairs, teaching and learning from each other.

“Find your Match”: Students are given only one card, and they must move around the room and communicate with their classmates to find their matching equivalent.

Includes really awesome answer key! This way, all your students won't have to ask you if they sorted/matched them correctly.

Thank you so much for your support!

Have fun sorting and matching!!

Wow! Nicely done! These cards are well-made, and clearly well-planned: all the numbers that they chose were spot on! They're numbers that are confusing to learners, with subtle differences that make accurate sorting very challenging! Amazing resource!!

These cards are really fantastic! They're very well done. I love the color-coding for the various forms, so fractions, decimals, and percents are all in a different color, front and back, so you can tell without looking at the cards if you're giving students a variety of forms, and not just one. What I did was give each student a handful of them, in different formats, and they had to convert all to the same format, then sort them from smallest to largest. This activity brought up a great teaching point: it doesn't matter which format you convert them to, but they must be the same format (also, fractions will always be the most difficult (everyone instinctively already knows that one :) )).

Read, write, and compare decimals to thousandths.
Read and write decimals to thousandths using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form, e.g., 347.392 = 3 × 100 + 4 × 10 + 7 × 1 + 3 × (1/10) + 9 × (1/100) + 2 × (1/1000).
Recognize and generate simple equivalent fractions, (e.g., 1/2 = 2/4, 4/6 = 2/3). Explain why the fractions are equivalent, e.g., by using a visual fraction model.
