Description
Do your students struggle to understand fraction and decimal tenths and hundredths? This engaging, print-and-go project provides engaging practice with converting basic fractions and decimals through an art-integration "gardening" project. I use this project to provide reinforcement and a formative assessment opportunity for 4th graders learning decimals.
This project provides students with practice with decimals in different forms in a creative project-based format. Students will follow certain planting requirements using a data table. They will then decide how to organize their 10x10 foot garden plot (hundreds grid) based on the requirements. Afterward, students fill out a decimal conversion table between tenths, hundredths, fraction, and word form.
