Description

Cure student boredom with this Operations with Decimals Math Quest! Allow students to master or practice their addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with decimals skills and eliminate clues to reverse the “Spell of Westham Mystique.” In the end, students will determine a four-digit code. If you want, you can set the activity up as an escape room or breakout.

Students are invited to Wizardry School but must pass the final sorcerer test! This math quest has students solving 20 math problems (task-cards) related to Common Core Standard 5.NBT.7 (Students will be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and the relationship between addition and subtraction.)

Your students will ENJOY every minute of Operations with Decimals practice and review! This engaging math activity gets your students up and moving while focusing on math standards with a twist of FUN! Students WILL need scratch paper to work out each problem and/or show their work.

Students will work individually (or in pairs) and race to see who can reverse the spell first! A friendly competition always increases engagement.

Super low prep! The only thing you need to do is cut and hide/hang the task cards!
