Description
This powerpoint presentation is a great way to teach students to change decimals to percents. Students should already be able to change fractions with a denominator of 100 to a percent. The powerpoint is animated so that students can see the decimal move! It is a great visual aid to using the Dr Pepper Method. It also shows how to change a percent to a decimal and has a guided practice of 8 problems. I love using this activity with a class set of whiteboards! I have the students make their DrP "game board" on paper and then hand out small objects to use as pieces. They love working the problems on their own individual white board and it's nice to be able to erase the original decimal point to show their answers.
The interactive notes (shown in preview) include a quick review of how to convert fractions & decimals and fractions &percents. They focus on converting decimals and percents.
The "fraction decimal percent" foldable would be a great follow up lesson.
