This is a great handout for students to practice place value with decimals. They will practice writing decimals in word form and then converting these into fractions out of 10 and 100.

This handout increases in difficulty with each page. Students are scaffolded to answering multi-step word problems with decimals.

My school uses outcome based reporting so I love to use sheets like this as my assessments. I know that if my students make mistakes within the first two pages they are still approaching the outcome. If they are able to complete the third or fourth pages with little difficulty they are achieving the outcome. Finally, if they are completing the word problems this shows me that they are excelling the outcome.

This handout lines up with the Alberta Program of studies.
