This Science of Reading aligned Decodable VIP Pass is a collection of more than 200 highly decodable passages with controlled text. These decodable passages are the perfect tool to help your students develop strong foundational reading skills. 

These decodable passages follow a Science of Reading aligned research-based, systematic scope and sequence (see Preview to view the scope and sequence and release dates). We carefully select each and every word to ensure that students are only exposed to target phonics skill words, previously taught phonics skill words, and high frequency words. 

Here is what is included for each phonics skill sheet:

• mouth motion photographs to show students how to form their mouths when practicing the focus sound-spelling
• highly decodable passages that only include the target phonics skill + previously taught phonics skills + high frequency words
• a section for students to highlight words from the text with the focus sound-spelling
• a section for students to draw a picture that matches the text
• comprehension questions for students to answer
