It can be challenging to find stories that your beginning reader can actually READ! These stories are carefully designed to include words that your students can decode, so that the sound-symbol relationship is nurtured. Guessing can be eliminated and solid reading strategies can be reinforced. Each story has a simple picture to help capture the students' interest and help students construct meaning. The picture does not provide enough support to have students use the picture as a "reading strategy".
