Description

Description:

Looking for a fun, effective, and fully aligned way to reinforce phonics instruction in your first grade or second-grade classroom?

Decoding Doodles are no-prep, engaging independent work activities designed to support ALL Consecutive reading lessons from 35 to 128.

Each page includes six decodable sentences that align with the weekly phonics concept and incorporate both new and previously taught irregular “heart words.” The lessons are buildable, meaning they reinforce previously introduced skills while introducing new ones—making them ideal for cumulative practice.

Students read each sentence and draw a matching doodle to demonstrate comprehension—perfect for centers, morning work, early finishers, or homework.

Why teachers love it:

  • Builds cumulatively from previous lessons
  • Includes irregular “heart words” from current and past lessons
  • Reinforces decoding, fluency, and comprehension
  • Encourages creativity and independent thinking
  • Easy to print and use—no prep required!

What’s included:

  • 104 pages of decodable sentence practice
  • One page per first and second grade lesson
  • Clear, consistent formatting for student independence
