Description

My Create-A-Poster series takes several Engineering/STEM skills and turns them into a project for students to create a poster/infographic that teaches that skill to the reader. The Create-A-Poster project is a great way to assess student understanding of the skill.

These projects are also very easy to drop in the lesson plan for sub days! I was so thankful I had these in my Sub Day Library a few years ago when my husband and I were in the ER and needed something quick and easy for me yet meaningful for the kids to do with a sub that did not require a computer, any supplies other than poster paper of some kind, and colored pencils, markers, or crayons. When my kids did this while I had emergency surgery, they just made posters on 11 X 17 manila paper and those turned out great.

Create-A-Poster is easy to grade, and I use their posters to hang in my room. I tell the kids the great ones replace what is on my walls. Keeps my walls fresh and kids love to try to do better than what I have hanging up currently. That said, I NEVER grade on artistic quality, but poster content, just because a group or individual is not artistic, but can clearly demonstrate the skill they will get a 100.

By purchasing this product, you will get editable yet ready to print directions ready to use with your students. This is part of a bundle. Separately you can purchase the whole series as a bundle that covers:

  • The Design Process
  • The Design Brief
  • Technical Drawings
  • How to Use a Multimeter
  • Circuits
  • Decoding Resistors
  • Logic Gates
  • Flow Charts
  • Mechanical Advantage
  • Gears
  • VEX Parts
