Engage your students in an introduction to density with a colorful slideshow and guided notes. Students learn about density and how to calculate. Students then get to practice these skills on a practice worksheet.
Concepts included: Students learn about density, how to calculate density and relative density. Students get visuals on how an object can have same mass or volume but be different densities.
Slideshow: The Density slideshow includes all of the information on the notes, words to fill in the blanks are highlighted, so students know exactly what to write. Simply display the slideshow on your device and go through with your students. Another option is to assign the slideshow in your student management system and have students independently fill in notes.
Guided Notes: students go over density and relative density, along with some examples to complete as a class
Practice page: students practice calculating density on different objects and comparing, then answer the age-old question “why do big boats float?”
