This lab describes the concept of density and leads students through the steps to find the density of several small objects. I used small objects such as beads, paperclips, small rocks, nuts/bolts, and marbles (anything that would fit in a graduated cylinder!!).

This is a very simple lab but it gets the objective done! Density can be a difficult concept for students to grasp without allowing them to get their hands active in their learning!

This lab can be done in middle school where density if introduced for the first time OR done in high school during the first week of school as a review.
