Description

Are you looking for innovative ways to engage your students in science that provide immediate feedback? This 16-question density task card activity is ideal for reviewing density concepts! Students will use the density equation to solve for density, mass, or volume, find the volume of irregular objects using the water displacement technique, and calculate density, mass, and volume using linear graphs. This interactive, self-checking, and self-grading review helps students deepen their understanding in a fun and engaging way. An answer key is included.

➡️ How It Works: Students complete a digital task card by typing in their answers. Correct answers turn green and provide a puzzle piece, while incorrect answers turn red. Once all questions are answered correctly, a link appears, leading students to a Google Slides puzzle they can assemble.

➡️ Learning Objectives:

  • Use the density equation to solve for density, mass, or volume.
  • Determine the volume of irregularly shaped rocks using the water displacement technique.
  • Calculate density, mass, and volume using linear graphs.

➡️ Standards: The level of this activity is perfect for middle or high school. This review activity aligns with the NGSS MS-PS1-7 and New York State Physical Setting/Earth Science Core Curriculum.

➡️ Digital: This image reveal review was created with Google Sheets™ and Google Slides. It can be used in person or for distance learning. Share the Google Sheets with your students via your Google Classroom. Make sure you select “Make a Copy for Each Student” while you are creating the assignment.
