This describing and attributes resource helps you to quickly informally assess and progress monitor a student’s ability to describe and give attributes. This set of 80 targets to describe is divided into lower and upper levels so that you can use it with a wide range of ages. Data sheets are divided into 4 sections so that you and your team can quickly and easily see students’ progress over time.
- Organized, target-specific data sheets with 80 describing targets (40 with pictures, 40 without for more advanced learners) help you to capture student performance throughout the year and monitor progress.

- Quickly and easily determine a student’s level of ability to describe
- Two levels of describing tasks are provided:
- Lower Level- with pictured objects
- The lower level skills inventory is intended for students who need stimulus pictures and/or who need more concrete items to describe.
- each set includes 2 foods, 1 bug, etc. to try to keep the informal assessment standardized as much as possible for all 4 sets
- Lower Level- with pictured objects
- Upper Level- no pictures and includes more advances concepts
- the upper level skills inventory is appropriate for students who are ready for more difficult items and who don’t need picture support
- targets include categories, familiar processes, etc. that require some higher level thinking compared to the lower level.
- Upper Level- no pictures and includes more advances concepts
- Target items or ideas to describe were carefully chosen for each level
