Description
In this student-led roleplay activity, students will complete the 12-slide Google Slideshow in order to design a course that they could hypothetically teach.
This activity would be great for a life skills class, entrepreneurship or business class, or ELA setting!
Prior to this activity, ask students about a hobby / interest that they are knowledgeable about (i.e. a sport, skill, etc). Then discuss, if he/she was a professor on this topic, what type of course would he/she teach?
In this task, students will be asked to do the following:
- Create a course title and find an image to support it
- Write a 1-2 paragraph course introduction
- Give information about himself/herself as the course professor (what makes them a credible source of information?)
- 5 distinct lessons / topics for the course and a brief explanation of each
- The cost to take the course
This activity can be used in the in-person classroom as well as the virtual/remote setting!
