Description

DESIGN A MINI-GOLF COURSE DESIGN A MINI-GOLF COURSE With STEM and Math Children and adults love to play mini-golf. Now is their chance to design their own mini-golf course using math and problem-solving skills. This PBL math and STEM project allows students a hands-on experience involving math, writing, and design.

Teachers, this is such a flexible project. You can scale it down for younger students or require more for older or more advanced students. It's a perfect STEM unit, too. Your students can work in groups or individually.

WHY TEACHERS LOVE PBL...

  • This PBL unit incorporates 21st Century skills with challenging, engaging, and creative activities.
  • There are lots of opportunities for differentiation, cooperative learning, and technology integration.
  • This real-world challenge requires students to use inquiry, critical thinking, and creative minds during high-interest cross-curricular activities [math, STEM, social studies, ELA].
  • Students love designing their very own GOLF courses! This is a perfect STEM activity for this unit.
  • Easily adapted for enrichment or gifted students in other grade levels.

TEACHERS LIKE YOU HAVE SAID...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “My students loved this unit! We even took a field trip to a mini golf course. Then we created a mini one and invited the whole school!”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I used this as a year-end project with my 7th grade math class. They absolutely loved it! We actually constructed our course using pizza boxes and then played the course using actual golf balls and dowel rods (shot pool style). They had a blast! I am going to expand the project next year to create a complete course (we only had 6 holes this year) next year with 6th-8th grades. Loved this!! Thanks!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “My students loved using this resource. There were great examples for students. Students were always engaged and had fun creating their mini-golf holes.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “We are still using this activity. We are slowly learning everything about mini golf and will ultimately build individual golf holes to “play” the entire course. They are so excited to design it and create their golf hole!”
