"These are perfect to print off for a sub to offer, but I also keep these in our art center for use during free play, and my students ADORE them. They get excited when their skills improve. Love it!"

Description

Following our Prewriting Pathways and Developmental WritingPathways resources, your child/students are ready to use those lines, curves, and shapes that they have mastered to draw! Each page has 3 parts, a warm up, tracing, and drawing section. The Warm Up box is to practice tracing those prewriting pathway lines, curves, and shapes that will be used in the drawing itself. The Trace It box is to use those pathways to trace a picture. The Draw It box is to try drawing the image themselves! There are 10 different drawings in this resource.

This is complex work that takes a lot of practice to master and feel confident in. Complex drawings and shapes are developmentally appropriate generally* for ages 5+.

*If at any time you are concerned about your child’s fine motor skills, please discuss your concerns with your child’s pediatrician. Some children will be able to do this activity before 5 years old, and many will be able to do it after 5 years old. Every child develops at his or her own rate.

My students love these pathway pictures. They are a favourite activity and I love how I can see their skills developing with each visit to the pages. A great support on our journey to becoming fluent printers.
