Are you looking for engaging library lessons? Do you want to reinforce library skills such as identifying nonfiction Dewey Decimal System call numbers? These printable "clip cards" require students to read a book title and clip a clothespin to the correct Dewey Decimal number.
This is a combination of three sets of printable Dewey Decimal clip cards in one bundle! The bundle contains 24 cards at each level, for a total of 72 cards.
- Red cards (easy) include only hundreds (e.g., 200s, 300s, 400s).
- Green cards (intermediate) include tens (e.g. 210, 350, 490).
- Purple cards (challenging) include ones (e.g. 296, 398, 417).
Each set has a color-coded Dewey chart that corresponds to that level, as well as an answer key.
OBJECT OF THE GAME: Students look at the title of the book on their card and clip a clothespin (that the teacher provides) to the correct Dewey number. They can refer to the Dewey chart, or walk around the library to check the shelves. If you wish, you can make the cards self-correcting by affixing a small sticker to the reverse side of the card, opposite the right answer (especially if you are going to use them in library centers).
They can switch with another student, when they are done, for more practice.
The three levels can be used separately for different grades (2d, 3d, 4th), at the beginning, middle and end of the school year, or shuffled all together for a mixed review.

You will be able to assign the Boom Cards you are buying with "Fast Pins," (a form of play that gives instant feedback to students for self-grading Boom Cards). Fast Play is a free way for students to use your BOOM Cards but it does not track individual progress.
