Description

Diagonal Secret Code is a practice worksheet to explore diagonal distance and segment length using either the Pythagorean Theorem or the distance formula. This is a 10th / 11th grade Geometry worksheet designed to help become more confident using the Pythagorean Theorem and the distance formula. In addition, this worksheet helps students determine when it is best to use the Pythagorean Theorem and when it is best to use the distance formula. It is recommended that students have access to calculators, though not required.

Prior knowledge needed: Basic knowledge of Pythagorean Theorem and the distance formula and understanding that the hypotenuse is the longest side of a right triangle.

Included in this activity is the worksheet (2 page) and optional graph paper (1 page).
