Level A task cards cover Common Core Geometry Standard 3.G.A.1 which requires students to determine and identify similarities among figures. Level B task cards cover the same standard in a more complex way PLUS it provides practice with angles 4.G.A.1 which is a skill that is covered in the next highest grade level. This is an excellent way to expose your students to above grade level topics and still cover current grade level topics at the same time!

Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
