This resource features 24 Problem Solving Task Cards and Worksheets (Print and Digital) where students develop their comprehension skills as they solve mathematical problems. The sophistication level of these word problems increases as students work on a range from least complex (red and yellow problems) to more complex (green problems). The blue problems can be implemented to push students' thinking as each problem can have multiple solutions and answers.

The problems in the Task Cards and Worksheets provides opportunities for students to practice multiplication and division problems - aligned to Standard 4.OA.3/5.OA.3

24 Problem Solving Task Cards

The Task Cards can be used as part of a larger lesson, in guided small groups, whole-class discussion, partner discussion before sharing out with a larger group or class, or even one-on-one with a teacher, guidance counselor, or parent/guardian! The Task Cards contain the same problems in the worksheets. ANSWER KEYS are included!

You can put the Task Cards out on gloss paper or regular paper and laminate. You can also organize them in a binder ring.

24 Problem Solving Worksheets

The Worksheets contain the same math problems in the Task Cards. There is a large space for students to show their work and write their answers clearly resembling state exam tests. Students who show difficulty showing their work or solving problems can be pulled out to work with you in small groups using the Task Cards!
