Description
This is a digital resource that uses Google Sheets.
Students will answer 14 questions about absolute value of integers to create their mystery image, in this case a series of boxes following the rainbow of colors. They will have to type their answer in the purple shaded box to the right of each question. If their answer is correct, some of their mystery image will be revealed. If they answer incorrectly, nothing will happen. They can check their work and try again. Students will get a "caution" message if they try to change any of the equations or type in the mystery image area.
This Digital Color by Number absolute value activity does not contain expressions or variables. There are also no negative signs outside of the parenthesis; all of the answers will be positive integers. Digital Color by Number Absolute Value 2 has students decide which absolute value is the greater value, while the Absolute Value 3 version has students find the absolute value of integers, expressions, and variables.
Digital Color by Number is a great way for students to self check their work both in class and with Distance Learning. When you share this activity as an assignment in Google Classroom, you can quickly see which students are having trouble just by looking at their mystery images.
