This slide show will help you introduce or review volume to your whole class. The 48 slide presentation leads a discussion on what is volume, practices figuring out volume with real pictures of shapes built with centimeter cubes, engages through estimating the volume of an empty shape, and finally has two real-life volume scenarios to really help master this skill. Perfect for 5.MD.3, 5.MD.4, and 5.MD.5. Uses both US Standard and Metric units.

How can I use this product?

The beginning of the editable slide show is great for introducing volume to your whole class. The rest of the slide show can also be used for your whole class as well as small groups, partners, or individuals.

You can upload this Powerpoint file to your Google Drive (make copies and delete the slides you don't want), and then share it to your students. You can also use it MS Teams.

What is included?

The 48 slide PowerPoint file contains:

  • What is volume?
  • How do we figure out volume?
  • Estimate the volume of empty containers
  • Apply the skill with real-life scenarios
