This DIGITAL Story Book Math creates a mathematical experience out of a favorite story book. This resource has mathematical activities that align to the elements in the story. Students can draw using scribble or Google™ Draw and/or insert photos.
Scaredy Squirrel is afraid of everything. This hilarious story shows Scaredy Squirrel’s antics as he tries to avoid everything he is afraid of. This makes it the perfect book to hook students into the story and embed Math into the activities.

The Math skills used in this resource include but are not limited to:
- Telling time: draw the hands that show the time on Scaredy Squirrel’s clock for his daily schedule.
- Addition and subtraction

- Estimation
- Where’s the Math?
The literacy/SEL skills:
- Comparing advantages of playing inside and outside (writing, critical thinking)
- Identifying and rating real life problems
- Writing a procedural account of escaping a campground
- Drawing exit plans
- Writing about a talent
