Description

Digital Version: This is a great bundle that I use in my classroom! It includes a fun and colorful "menu" with a variety of different food items listed. Students use the menu to answer a variety of different questions/math problems. My students are SO motivated by Menu Math and it teaches them valuable "real world" math skills. I have had students come in to school after this unit and tell me that they did menu math when their family went out to dinner at a restaurant.

Skills Include:

-Finding items on the Menu

-Addition without regrouping

-Addition with regrouping

-Addition of 2 items

-Addition of 3 items

-Doubling

-Tripling

-Story/Word problems

-Create your own addition problems

-Create your own Story/Word problems

-Money

Addition of decimals

Digital Version includes 2 Versions:

1.Digital: Record Your Answer- Students will solve problems and record their answers in a text box of by moving/dragging/dropping. You can have students “turn in” or “share” their work with you to check over when they finish.

2.Digital: Self Checking- Students will solve problems on their own and then check their work themselves immediately by moving the graphic on top of the correct answer.

Alternate Idea:

Whole Class Review- Use this as a whole group review activity by

projecting the slides on the board and having students respond via

paper or a white board.

I have used this as a whole class resource as well as in a small group setting and/or for center time. There are 24 student slides in each version (the same content is in each).

I used this for distance learning during virtual "snow" days. It was perfect for a whole group lesson when I normally do small groups. The kids love "real" math and seeing how they will use math in real life.
