Solid semester-long photography curriculum with clear progression through fundamentals. Covers essential topics from history to composition to action photography. PowerPoints and worksheets included for each unit. Works well with basic point-and-shoot cameras.
Information in the slides was helpful and educational. It provided the basis of a lesson. The worksheets in this bundle were only helpful if you had the book the questions referenced. It would have been more helpful to include note-taking worksheets that students have to fill out while they look at the slideshow and listen to a lecture. My students did not engage much with this material. We tried the assignments given at the end of the slideshows for units 1 and 2, but students were not into the projects. The assignments did provide a way for beginners to practice new skills – which is good. In order for high school age groups to engage with the material, I think they need something that is more fun or inspirational to work towards.
The photos used in the slideshows were poor quality. A few of the images looked pixelated. Some images looked stretched or were facing the wrong direction seemingly to make them fit on a slide with text. For use in a photography class, I expected the images to look better and show good quality craftsmanship that we want students to work towards. It would also have been nice to see more diversity of ethnicities in the photo examples. Most of the people shown in the example photos for each lesson are white and young children with few exceptions. Would not purchase if I had it to do over. Would not recommend this for high school age groups.
Great ideas. My students are really enjoy the variety of projects.
Very helpful resource!
Not too stoked on this. Most of your resources go hand-in-hand with a textbook that seems to be difficult to track down. I'm going to be able to use SOME of this.
I'm sorry these lessons aren't what you were expecting. The TPT listing did mention the textbook linked to some of the lessons. I found a link to a copy on Amazon if you'd like to reference it (http://tiny.cc/du6njz).
There is no key for the history of Photography reading.
So helpful. Thank you!
nice
