Description

This is a Google Sheets resource where students can track their own progress with the 4th grade common core standards. There is a separate sheet for each math standard broken up into units. The standards are written into "I can" statements, and are very student friendly.

The standards are broken up into the following units:

-Place Value

-Addition and Subtraction

-Basic Multiplication and Division

-Greater Multiplication

-Greater Division

-Algebra

-Fractions

-Operations with Fractions

-Fractions and Decimals

-Geometry

-Measurement

Each unit has:

- A place to track the percent of the pre-test and post-test to see improvement.

- A table with all of the standards taught in that unit with a place for the students to track mastery on a 4 point scale. There also is a definition for what the 1,2,3,and 4 mean.

- A place for the students to make a goal for the unit based on the feedback from the pre-test. They will explain a goal and how they are to accomplish the goal.

I have my students track the mastery of each standard from the pre-test and then change their mastery of the standard as they learn and take quizzes. This way they also can see their progress throughout the unit.

This is a great digital resource that can be assigned to each student through Google Classroom. Each student will be able to track their progress all year long without having to worry about losing a piece of paper. It is very powerful to have each student show their parents they know where their understanding lies with each standard during parent/teacher conferences. Many parents have been impressed! This is also a helpful resource for standard based grading.
