Description

Four Thanksgiving Coordinate Graph Task Cards - This set of coordinate graphing picture task cards give your students a chance to have some fun with a coordinate graphing plane.

Digital Thanksgiving Coordinate Graphs for Google and Distance Learning

How can I use this product?

This is a great asynchronous activity. In a whole class mini lesson, spend about 5-10 minutes demonstrating coordinates in a Zoom session and then assign each student a drawing to complete in Google Classroom. Perfect for Common Core 5.G.1 and 5.G.2. You can also save the slides as a PowerPoint and use in MS Teams. An optional task for early finishers or as an extension, students can color in their drawing afterwards and explore the drawing tools.

If you would like to also print out the directions and graphing task cards, click here.

How is this different from other resources?

These are simple drawings that students will create on a grid in Google, so the drawing is a total surprise. There is a Line Tool Box for students to drag into position, so they don't have to keep finding the line tool. But as an optional task, students can color in their drawing afterwards using the drawing tools.

What is included?

1 pdf file with 4 pages

  • 2 pages of cover/copyright info/and teacher notes
  • 2 pages of instructions to use in Google Classroom and links to copy to your Google drive
    • Google File: Instructions for students to graph the 4 drawings
    • Google File: Answer Key for the 4 drawings

Drawings: pilgrim hat, Happy Thanksgiving, pumpkin, I love pie!

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Use a pair of perpendicular number lines, called axes, to define a coordinate system, with the intersection of the lines (the origin) arranged to coincide with the 0 on each line and a given point in the plane located by using an ordered pair of numbers, called its coordinates. Understand that the first number indicates how far to travel from the origin in the direction of one axis, and the second number indicates how far to travel in the direction of the second axis, with the convention that the names of the two axes and the coordinates correspond (e.g., 𝘹-axis and 𝘹-coordinate, 𝘺-axis and 𝘺-coordinate).
Represent real world and mathematical problems by graphing points in the first quadrant of the coordinate plane, and interpret coordinate values of points in the context of the situation.
