Description

Drake is BACKKK in the school houseeee!

My previous task cards (Digits with Drake - Add & Subtract Mixed Numbers) was such a hit that I have brought back the Drake Task Cards...but they are EVEN BETTER!

When you purchase these task cards, not only do you get a printable version of the set, but you also get access of the Google Slides Version! These can be used in Google Classroom or only other digital platform!

No recording sheet is included, but I have students use notebook paper sectioned into different squares, OR if I am using them digitally, I have them use a white board and dry erase marker, and they upload a photo of their work directly to the slide!

This set includes 10 word problem task cards that practice the skill of adding and subtracting mixed numbers with uncommon denominators!

Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators (including mixed numbers) by replacing given fractions with equivalent fractions in such a way as to produce an equivalent sum or difference of fractions with like denominators. For example, 2/3 + 5/4 = 8/12 + 15/12 = 23/12. (In general, 𝘢/𝘣 + 𝘤/𝘥 = (𝘢𝘥 + 𝘣𝘤)/𝘣𝘥.)
Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions referring to the same whole, including cases of unlike denominators, e.g., by using visual fraction models or equations to represent the problem. Use benchmark fractions and number sense of fractions to estimate mentally and assess the reasonableness of answers. For example, recognize an incorrect result 2/5 + 1/2 = 3/7, by observing that 3/7 < 1/2.
