Who can't use extra practice with word problems?

These ten word problems involving direct and inverse variation will provide the extra practice your algebra students need. The focus is primarily on solving inverse variations (7 problems) since direct variation (3 problems) tends to be much easier.

No specific method is required by the worksheet, so students may solve the problems using whatever formula or process you want.

I am using this to remediate students who still struggle with variation. Variation in context seems to really help.

Good collection of word problems. I like the fact that the word problem does not state what type of variation. It makes the student think about the scenario and choose the appropriate type!
