Understanding directional terms is a critical skill for every student! This resource provides your students with the opportunity to practice matching sentences with pictures. There are 2 sets. The first set uses images that are illustrated and visually simpler. The second set uses actual photos and may be a good option for older learners.

This resource contains:

  • Set 1: 20 cards with sentence options based on simple illustrations.

Set 1 addresses these directional terms: on, under, behind, next to, on top, outside, bottom, middle, right, left, inside, around, above, between

  • Set 2: 20 cards with sentence choices based on real images.

Set 2 addresses these directional terms: over, on, between, over, under, front, top, bottom, towards, away, through, next to, along, around.

After doing a BOOM card over directional words, my secondary Essential Skills class needed some additional practice with this skill. Glad I found some task cards that I can use with them to cover this skill more. Love that it uses both drawings, as well as real photos!
