This is an extended learning activity that can be used in Algebra or Geometry class or any math class. I do believe that as young as 5th or 6th grader can complete this activity.
A fun activity that let students connect, think critically and discover the relationship between the number of sides (sticks) and the number of triangle formed.
Some guided questions like: generate the formula with respect to the number of sides/triangles, applying the formula and a further application finding its area which need a knowledge on special right triangles.
