In this powerpoint presentation, the idea and properties of discrete probability distributions is introduced. These properties and how to find simple and compound probabilities from a table are demonstrated using an example. In addition, the mean, variance, and standard deviation of a discrete distribution as found using tables are covered and included in the example. The lesson concludes with an additional example left open for students to perform on their own.
