Displaying Numerical Data Advanced introduces students to several types of graphs that will help them display information. Students will discover that there are many ways to show data. They will learn in this lesson about box plots, histograms, and dot plots. The worksheets will provide them with plenty of opportunities to demonstrate their comprehension of the material.

The “Options for Lessons” section contains a couple of suggestions for either additional or alternative activities for your lesson. One suggestion is to have students research a topic that relates to another class for the homework assignment. They will collect data from that class and fill in the information on the worksheet. Another option is to have students practice graphing data sets that they create, either by hand or on the computer.
